Mistfall Hunter Tier List (Season 1 · Soul Hunt)
How we rank (the criteria)
Most tier lists just give you letters. These are the five things we actually weigh — a class only reaches S-tier if it scores high on at least four:
- Fight impact: how much the class decides a PvP encounter at equal gear — damage, control, or the utility nobody else brings.
- Self-sufficiency: can it clear PvE camps and bosses alone at a reasonable speed? (Weighted heavily in Solo, lightly in Trios.)
- Disengage & extraction consistency: in an extraction game, the best fight is the one you can leave. Stealth, kiting and escape tools rank high.
- Team synergy: does the class scale with teammates — healing, peel, focus-fire setup? (Trio-only criterion.)
- Execution floor: how badly an average player is punished for mistakes. High-skill classes land one tier lower than their ceiling suggests.
Trio tier list
Trios reward sustained teamfight value: healing, ranged pressure, and abilities that scale with teammates. Ranks are per-stance where a class's two stances genuinely differ.
| Tier | Class (Stance) | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | Blackarrow | Best ranged pressure in the game; freeze and utility arrows control entire fights even after the August 6 and August 12 adjustments |
| S | Sorcerer | Highest teamfight damage ceiling; with a frontline to hide behind, nothing out-damages it |
| S | Seer (Reverent) | The only true healer — every serious trio wants one, and none wants two |
| A | Mercenary (Sword & Shield) | The anchor frontline; blocks, peels, and survives focus fire |
| A | Shadowstrix (Dual Blades) | Cleanup assassin; converts the openings the S-tiers create |
| A | Withered Knight (Polearm & Shield) | Heavy control after the July 30 buffs; the third-best frontline option |
| B | Mercenary (Hammer) · Withered Knight (Greatsword) · Shadowstrix (Dagger) · Seer (Blasphemer) | Each has a real flaw in coordinated trios — timing-dependent, synergy-hungry, or outclassed by the class's other stance |
Solo tier list
Solo flips the priorities: self-sufficiency, escape tools, and the ability to disengage from bad fights matter more than raw teamfight output.
| Tier | Class | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | Shadowstrix | Stealth picks its fights and escapes the rest — the defining solo skill in an extraction game. Weak against PvE bosses is its one real cost |
| S | Blackarrow | Kiting plus traps means most melee classes simply never reach you — though the August 12 nerf shaved its solo burst |
| A | Withered Knight | Wither-mark burst ends ambushes fast; sturdy enough to survive mistakes |
| A | Mercenary | Sword & Shield with Perfect Parry is on the rise post-nerfs and some lists now rate it S; Hammer is gear-gated but deadly once online |
| A | Sorcerer | Devastating when it shoots first, punished hard when it doesn't; Stardust builds feel the August 12 damage trim most |
| B | Seer | Both stances give up too much solo kill pressure — a class built for teammates. Reverent's sheer durability keeps it annoying to kill, but it wins few fights outright |
Season 1 context: what Soul Harvest changed
Season 1 (Soul Hunt) is not a static meta. The August 12 patch landed major PvP changes for Blackarrow, Sorcerer and Shadowstrix two days before the Soul Harvest mode went live on August 14, and the post-patch picture is still settling:
- Ranged took a trim, melee is climbing: Blackarrow and Sorcerer lost some solo PvP damage, and solo lists are converging on Sword Shadowstrix, Perfect Parry Mercenary, and high-durability picks rising in response. Our S-tier stays unchanged for now — both classes remain S on the major post-patch lists — but this is the trend most likely to force a rerank.
- Soul Harvest mode (live Aug 14): a themed mode across all maps and difficulties with the Soulgnawer elite and an exchange shop. Mode-specific grinding rewards sustained PvE output, which quietly buffs Shadowstrix, Blackarrow and Sorcerer farming speed.
- Coming soon: the Blackarrow Javelin weapon and the Golden Woodling monster are next on the roadmap, with the Ancestor Tree event mid-season. A new Blackarrow weapon is the single biggest meta risk to these rankings — we'll rerank the week it lands.
What changed in August
- July 30 (launch patch): Withered Knight's Polearm & Shield buffed — the change that put it into trio A-tier.
- August 6: Blackarrow tuned down alongside broader PvE adjustments and the Einherjar Mist Lord challenge; it remains S-tier in both queues.
- August 12: Major Blackarrow, Sorcerer and Shadowstrix PvP changes ahead of Soul Harvest; solo burst trimmed, melee ascendant.
- August 14: Soul Harvest mode live with exchange shop; rankings above reflect the post-patch meta as of August 25.
Every balance change is logged in our patch notes archive, each class's stances are broken down on the classes page, and ready-to-play loadouts for the S- and A-tiers are in the builds section.
Tier list FAQ
Is Blackarrow still S-tier after the nerfs?
Yes, in both queues. The August 6 and 12 adjustments trimmed its damage but left its real strength — range, freeze utility, and disengage — intact. Every major post-patch list we track still has it in S.
What's the best class for a beginner?
Mercenary (Sword & Shield). It teaches blocking, parries and stamina — the fundamentals every other class builds on — and forgives mistakes that would kill a Sorcerer or Shadowstrix. Start there, then branch to whatever S-tier playstyle appeals to you.
Why does stance matter more than class?
Several classes are effectively two different characters: Seer (Reverent) is the game's only healer while Seer (Blasphemer) is a niche damage pick, and Mercenary's Hammer plays nothing like its Sword & Shield. That's why our trio table ranks stances, not just classes.
How often is this tier list updated?
After every balance patch, and immediately when new content lands — the Blackarrow Javelin weapon due later in Season 1 is the next scheduled rerank trigger. The "current as of" date at the top always shows the last verification.
